From snowy mountains to foggy skylines

Monday 12.02

It’s Monday Morning 12.02 of February and our Backpacking journey beginns at 09:00 hour in the morning, where Lukas and Salle, two friends of mine, picks me up to drive me to the airport Zurich. on our way we pick up Timon and Joel. Everything at the Airport went smoothly. It wasn’t busy at all and we made it to the plane in time. For me it was the first flight overnight and the first long flight at all. I had difficulties to sleep but besides that and a few turbulances everything went without complications until Bangkok Airport.

The hotel was really big, reminded me of the big Disneyland resorts. It had 4 25+ floors buildings, 2 swimmingpools and a gym / welness area. The room was okeyish for a 4 star hotel but spaceious and with a nice view towards the skyline.

We checked in at ca. 9 am. The 11 hour flight was pretty tiering but we wanted to stay up the whole day to get the right sleeping schedule. So we sat down at the poolarea, orderd some beer to celebrate the smooth outcome of the journey so far.

I think ith the view of the skyline of Bangkok it was the moment of realisation, that we finally made all of it actually happen after 4 months of waiting and preparing for this new chapter of life for us.

During the day we stayed at the hotel, tried some fried rice, drank some beer and made the best out of the small amount of energy that we had left in us. At some point

The first thing We noticed, is the humid air. We took a taxi from the airport to our Hotel, The Prince Palace Hotel. On our way, the Taxi Driver gave us some recommondations about what to see in the city and also showed us some thai-raggey songs, which especially Timon loved.

During the day we stayed at the hotel, tried some fried rice, drank some beer and made the best out of the small amount of energy that we had left in us. At some point fell asleep in our room and woke up somewhen in the night and orded some overpriced burgers from the roomservice. That summs up a long and eventful first day of our trip.
